Forget Me Not… Reassuring our Rainbow Nation’s children they are remembered

On Tuesday 23 September 2014, the Ellis Park Banquet Hall in Johannesburg will transform into a glamourous, star-studded venue for caring, socially-responsible businesses, individual philanthropists and more than 50 of South Africa’s top celebrities and sports stars to join together in support of a truly heart-warming cause: making a significant difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children.
This year’s Stars for Charity Gala Dinner &Show, hosted by Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC) to raise funds for the 1000+ children under their care, is themed “Forget Me Not”, ensuring that more than 1000 of South Africa’s most vulnerable children are reassured they have not been forgotten.
“The annual Stars for Charity event is an unique opportunity for businesses to treat their top clients and star performers, and for individual philanthropists to collaborate, in the most glamorous way to change children’s destinies,” says Annamart Viljoen of AKC. “For the past 112 years, Abraham Kriel Childcare has ensured that South Africa’s most vulnerable children are not forgotten. Thanks to the generous support of South Africa’s most-loved celebrities, top companies and caring individuals, we are changing the lives of South Africa’s most destitute and vulnerable children. It certainly is a privilege to change a child’s life, and with your support, we can ensure these children’s heart-wrenching stories are transformed into tales of hope and triumph, by providing them with the educational building blocks that enable them to create their futures.”
The cost per table seating 12 people (including a celebrity couple) is R15000, and includes a sumptuous dinner, welcome drink and fine wine. Enjoy the opportunity to mingle with more than 50 of South Africa’s favourite celebrities, including Clive Rice, Manuel Escorcio, Elzette Maarschalk, Joseph Clark, Dawie Roodt, Jennifer Jones, Johan Stemmet, Carmel Fisher, Binnelanders, SewendeLaners , Villa Rosa amongst other soapie actors and the big hearted Golden Lions. The night will be filled with fabulous entertainment by celebrities and the children from AKC’s different programs. All funds raised are utilised 100% in providing the educational needs of the children served by AKC.
Seating arrangements are strictly first come first serve, with VIP bookings receiving preference regarding the allocation of celebrities to tables. Table sponsors and guests are also welcome to suggest celebrities and stars they would love to meet, who will then be invited to attend as guests of honour by special request.
